Hello my fellow futurists!
Sometimes the daily news is bleak, but remember, the future is not yet made. We can make whatever techno utopia we want. Mine is full of sailboats, trains, personal supercomputer AIs, the Metaverse, walkable communities, space travel, endless energy from fusion power, and joy from the pursuit of creativity.
Just got back home from an amazing trip back up to the bay area to visit family and friends.
San Francisco is always full of fog, but just on the other side of the bridge are the tallest trees on planet earth.
The redwood trees still growing in Muir Woods were there long before Columbus ever set sail to the "new world"
A bit back I talked about the launch of the James Webb Space Telescope. Now we have the first images coming back from it and they're amazing.
Click on the image to go to the full resolution image on NASA's site. Each little blip is another galaxy in which there are millions of stars, each with planets, some of which are probably habitable and maybe have alien life.

In a not so surprising news for anyone following this ordeal, Elon is trying to back out of buying Twitter. Twitter is suing to force the deal.
I don't really care who ends up owning Twitter, I don't think the future of the internet, social media, democracy, or anything that serious sits in the hands of one company and a billionaire.

I demoed this headset a few months back, it's pretty amazing. The selective dimming allows the headset to almost be dual purpose, augmented reality AND virtual reality when you need. Tons of business use cases, but not for consumers, not at that price.

VR concerts may not replace real ones, but they're a very cool experience. Looking forward to this one with the very talented Post Malone.
โIโm pumped for the fans to have this VR experience of Twelve Carat Toothache. We put so much work into this to make it as incredible as possible. Thank you to everyone who helped bring this to lifeโ

In a first ever moment, the team at Mojo Vision pulled off an augmented reality contact lens.
I'm sure that AR is gonna be a big deal, it kinda scares me and could end up being really, really awful, but it'll be here. Regardless, I'll never wear contacts. I can't get over touching my own eye.

I believe alien life is quite common in the universe, although intelligent life is less so. Some say it has yet to appear on planet Earth.
